Where any Bill (hereinafter referred to as the continuing Bill) is introduced in any session of the State Legislature for the continuance of any Act which would expire in such session or thereafter (hereinafter referred to as the expiring Act) and such Act expires before the continuing Bill after receiving the assent of President or Governor as may be necessary, has been published in the Gazette as an Act (hereinafter referred to as the continuing Act), then except as otherwise specially provided in the continuing Act, — (a) where the expiring Act is intended to be continued without any modifications, the continuing Act shall be deemed and taken to have effect from the date of expiration of the first mentioned Act (hereinafter referred to as the said date), as fully and effectually to all intents and purposes as if the continuing Act had actually been published in the Gazette before the said date, and (b) where the expiring Act is intended to be continued with any modification, the continuing Act shall be deemed to have continued the first mentioned Act, without any such modication, from the said date till immediately before the commencement of the continuing Act as fully and effectually to all intents and purposes as if the continuing Act had actually been published in the Gazette before the said date and had not provided for such modifications ; Provided that nothing herein contained shall extend, or be construed to extend, to affect any person with any punishment, penalty or forfeiture whatsoever by reason of anything done or omitted to be done, by any such person contrary to the provisions of the Act so continued between the expiration of the same and the date on which the continuing Act is actually first published in the Gazette.
<span style="margin-left:15px;"></span>Where any Bill (hereinafter referred to as the continuing Bill) is introduced in any session of the State Legislature for the continuance of any Act which would expire in such session or thereafter (hereinafter referred to as the expiring Act) and such Act expires before the continuing Bill after receiving the assent of President or Governor as may be necessary, has been published in the Gazette as an Act (hereinafter referred to as the continuing Act), then except as otherwise specially provided in the continuing Act, —<br> <span style="margin-left:15px;"></span><span style="margin-left:15px;"></span>(a) where the expiring Act is intended to be continued without any modifications, the continuing Act shall be deemed and taken to have effect from the date of expiration of the first mentioned Act (hereinafter referred to as the said date), as fully and effectually to all intents and purposes as if the continuing Act had actually been published in the Gazette before the said date, and<br> <span style="margin-left:15px;"></span><span style="margin-left:15px;"></span>(b) where the expiring Act is intended to be continued with any modification, the continuing Act shall be deemed to have continued the first mentioned Act, without any such modication, from the said date till immediately before the commencement of the continuing Act as fully and effectually to all intents and purposes as if the continuing Act had actually been published in the Gazette before the said date and had not provided for such modifications ;<br> <span style="margin-left:15px;"></span><span style="margin-left:15px;"></span>Provided that nothing herein contained shall extend, or be construed to extend, to affect any person with any punishment, penalty or forfeiture whatsoever by reason of anything done or omitted to be done, by any such person contrary to the provisions of the Act so continued between the expiration of the same and the date on which the continuing Act is actually first published in the Gazette. <br>
