(1) The University shall have such Schools/Departments/ Centers/Units as may be prescribed. (2) Each Schools/Departments/ Centers/Units shall have such subjects of study as may be assigned to it by the Ordinance. (3) (a) In each School/Department/Center/Unit of teaching in the University, there shall be a Dean/Head/Officer In-charge, as applicable and other condition. The appointment shall of such Dean (Head), Officer In-charge shall be such as may be prescribed. (b) The post of the Head of Departments/ Centers/Units shall rotate among the Professors. In case of only one Professor in a Department/Center/Unit, the rotation of Headship shall be among Professor and senior most Associate Professor according to seniority: Provided that in the case of Departments:- (i) where there is no Professor, the headship shall rotate among the Associate Professors of three years standing, in such manner as may be prescribed; (ii) where there are no Professors and Associate Professor, the headship shall be with Dean of School concerned. However, the senior-most Assistant Professor shall be In-charge of Department/Centre/Unit. (4) The Head of Department/Centre/Unit shall be responsible to the Dean of Academic Affairs for the organization of teaching in the Department/Center/Unit and shall have all such other powers and duties as may be provided in the Ordinance, however for general administration, he shall report to Dean of concerned School. (5) Board of Studies shall be constituted in accordance with the provisions of the Ordinances, Boards of Studies in respect of different subjects of study and more than one subject may be assigned to one Board of Studies.
