(1) The State Ground Water Management and Regulatory Authority shall ensure that no commercial, industrial, infrastructural and bulk user pollute ground water. It shall ensure through respective District Ground Water Management Council to make installation of treatment plant mandatory wherever necessary in such manner as may be prescribed. (2) Where such user of ground water referred to in sub-section-(1) fails to set up treatment plant within the prescribed period, the State Ground Water Management and Regulatory Authority shall have the right to get the necessary treatment plant constructed at such users cost and proceed against such user under the provisions of sub-section (2) of section 39.
