An apex society may, for servicing its constituents and in accordance with its bye-laws, perform the following functions, namely:- (a) to take measures for the observance of co-operative principles; (b) to promote and organize co-operative societies and for this purpose frame model bye-laws, issue guide lines for making regulations sand policies for consideration ; (c) to provide co-operative training, education and information and promote co-operative principles ; (d) to undertake research and evaluation and assist in preparation of perspective development plans of member co-operative societies ; (e) to promote harmonious relations amongst member cooperative societies ; (f) to represent the interest of member co-operative societies and to make efforts for policies and legislation favorable to co-operative societies ; (g) to undertake business services on behalf of its members ; (h) to provide co-operation and management of development services to member co-operative societies including participation in board meetings where such member societies are invited ;] (i) to assist member co-operative societies in regular conduct of general meetings ; (j) to evolve code of conduct for its members ; (k) to evolve viability norms for its members ; (i) to provide legal aid and advice to its members ; (m) to provide any other service in the interest of its members.]1
