(1) It shall be the duty of the beneficiary— (a) to maintain and keep in repair at his cost a work as required by the plan; and (b) to discharge other liabilities imposed upon him under the plan. (2) Where a beneficiary fails to maintain or repair the work or discharge a liabilities as required by sub-section (1) the Collector may cause the work to be maintained or repaired and liability to be discharged and shall recover from the beneficiary as arrears of land revenue, the cost of such maintenance repair or discharge.
