Notwithstanding anything contained in the Uttar Pradesh State Universities Act, 1973 and the statutes made thereunder,- (a) the King George's Medical College shall with effect from the appointed date cease to be a constituent college of the Lucknow University and shall stand upgraded and be transferred to the University; and (b) any student of the King George's Medical College who immediately prior to the appointed date was studying for any examinations of the Lucknow University shall continue his studies as a student of the University and be permitted to complete his courses in preparation therefor and be admitted to the examinations of the University.
