(1) Any officer, servant or member (including the Chairman and Vice-Chairman) of a committee shall furnish such information in his possession in regard to the affairs or proceedings of the committee, standing committee or any sub-committee as the Metropolitan Commissioner, or any officer authorised by him or, as the case may be, any officer authorised by the State Government, may require him so to do. (2) An officer holding an inquiry into the affairs of the committee or examining the proceedings under section 52 shall have powers to summon and enforce the attendance of any officer, servant or member including the Chairman or Vice-Chairman of the committee and to compel him to give evidence and to produce documents by the same means and as far as possible in the same manner as is provided in the case of a Civil Court by the Code of Civil Procedure, 1908 (V of 1908). The officer shall thereafter submit a report of the enquiry or examination so made by him to the State Government.
