(1) This Act may be called the Maharashtra Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, De-notified Tribes (Vimukta Jatis), Nomadic Tribes, Other Backward Classes and Special Backward Category (Regulation of Issuance and Verification of) Caste Certificate Act, 2000. (2) It shall come into force on such date, as the State Government may, by notification in the Official Gazette,1 appoint.
