(1) There shall be a Council to be called as the Maharashtra State Rashtriya Uchhatrar Shiksha Abhiyan Council (hereinafter referred to as "RUSA"). (2) The Council under sub-section (1) shall be a body corporate, having perpectual succession and a common Seal and may by the name sue or be sued. (3) The State Government may, by notification in the Official Gazette specify the composition, functions and responsibilities of the council under sub-section (1), which shall be in conformity with the guidelines of RUSA of the Government of India: Provided that, every such notification shall be laid as soon as may be, after it is issued, before each House of the State Legislature. (4) The Council under sub-section (1) shall forward a yearly report of its activities, to the Commission under section 76.
