(1) This Act may be called the Maharashtra Medical Practitioners Act, 1961. (2) It extends to the whole of the State of Maharashtra. (3) The whole Act (except Chapter VI thereof) shall come into force on such 1date as the State Government may, by notification in the Official Gazette, appoint; and Chapter VI shall come into force on such other date 2[being subsequent date] as that Government, by like notification, appoints.
