(1) As soon as may be, after the commencement of the Act, the State Government shall, by notification in the Official Gazette, establish a Authority to be called the Maharashtra Infrastructure Development Enabling Authority, to exercise the powers conferred on it and perform the functions assigned to it under the Act. (2) The Authority shall be a body corporate by the name aforesaid having perpetual succession and a common seal, with the power, subject to the provisions of the Act, to acquire, hold and dispose of property, both moveable and immoveable, to do all things incidental and necessary for the purposes of the Act, and to contract, and shall, by name sue or be sued. (3) The head office of the Authority shall be at such place as the State Government may specify.
