(1) The enactment specified in column 1 of the Schedule is hereby amended in the manner, and to the extent, shown in column 2 thereof. (2) Before the expiration of one year from the commencement of this Act, the State Government may, by notification in the Official Gazette, delete the work "famine" from any State law and where the context requires, substitute for the work "famine" the word "scarcity" and make such consequential amendments as the rules of grammar may require.
