(1) The provisions of the Act shall have overriding effect over the provisions of any other law in force on the subject from the date of its coming into force: Provided that, any rights accrued, actions taken, cases pending under any other law in force shall be governed by the provisions of such law: Provided further that, if an existing lease agreement between the Land Owner - Lessor and the Lessee Cultivator is sought to be further extended or replaced by a new lease, the provisions of this Act shall apply. (2) For the removal of doubts, it is hereby declared that this Act shall not have any retrospective effect and the existing protected tenants or share croppers, existing on the date of coming into force of this Act, under the existing Tenancy laws in the State of Maharashtra shall not be affected by this Act.
