(1) When any vacancy occurs in the office of a member, other than an ex-officio member of any authority or other body of the university before the expiry of his normal term, the vacancy shall be filled, as soon as may be, by nomination of a person by the Kulaguru on the basis of seniority as prescribed. (2) The person so nominated shall be a person who is otherwise, eligible to be a member of the said authority or body from the same category. The person so nominated shall hold office only so long as the member in whose place he has been nominated, would have held it, if the vacancy had not occurred.
