(1) This Act may be called the Prize Competitions
Act, 1955.
(2) It extends to 1[the territories which, immediately before the 1st November, 1956, were
comprised in] the States of Andhra, Bombay, Madras, Orissa, Uttar Pradesh, Hyderabad, Madhya
Bharat, Patiala and East Punjab States Union and Saurashtra and all Part C States.
(3) It shall come into force on such date2
as the Central Government may, by notification in the
Official Gazette, appoint.
