56Disposal, on conclusion of trial for forest-offence, of produce in respect of which it was committed

When the trial of any forest-offence is concluded, any forest-produce in respect of which such offence has been committed shall, if it is the property of 1[Government] or has been confiscated, be taken charge of by a Forest-officer, and, in any other case, may be disposed of in such manner as the Court may direct.

STATE AMENDMENT

Maharashtra.

Amendment of section 56 of Act 16 of 1927.--In section 56 of the principal Act, for the word "forfeited" the word "confiscated" shall be substituted.

Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh (UTs).--

Section 56.--For the words "When the trial of", substitute the words, figures and letter, "Without prejudice to the provisions of section 52C, when the trial of".
